Raag Darbari Kanada
Raag Darbari, is a version of Kanada created by Miya Tansen, a musician in Akbar’s court. It belongs to the Asawari thaat and has the Asawari ang and the Kanada ang in it. Raag Jaunpuri, Adaana and Asawari are samaprakritik raags. Watch the video to learn more.
Aandolan (Oscillation) of komal Ga and komal Dha swars; all the microtones involved and timing of these movements are very important for rendering the raag correctly. Watch the video for a demonstration.
The Gandhar and the Dhaivat are ati-komal, i.e. they are slightly lower than the regular komal notes.
It is a poorvaang pradhan raag and is elaborated in the mandra and madhya saptaks. When the vadi of a raag falls in the lower tetra chord, the raag is poorvaang pradhan.
